AMBER Alert Europe’s Think Before You Share campaign, aimed at raising awareness among teenagers of the risks of sharing nudes, is aired by Euronews for five consecutive months as part of the news outlet’s One Minute of Responsibility programme, reaching millions of viewers in 155 countries.
According to a recent survey, one out of three teenagers has admitted to seeing non-consensually shared nudes, highlighting the need for education on the topic.
The Think Before You Share campaign aims to raise awareness among young people about the potential consequences of sharing intimate images, including legal repercussions and emotional harm. It also encourages them to report any non-consensual sharing of nudes to social media platforms and the authorities.
The Think Before You share campaign was selected to be part of the One Minute Of Responsibility programme, which airs one-minute ads for good causes.
Frank Hoen, Chairman and Founder of AMBER Alert Europe, said, “We are thrilled to partner with Euronews to raise awareness on this important issue. Sharing nudes can have devastating effects on the victims, and it is crucial that we make teenagers aware of the consequences of their actions. I hope the campaign also encourages parents and educators to have open discussions with young people about the issue.”
The Think Before You Share campaign¸ which was created in collaboration with advertising agency Innocean Berlin, will be broadcast on Euronews throughout the months of November, December, January, February, and March.
