Today, we are proud to release our Annual Report 2024, showcasing our key achievements and ongoing efforts to improve the protection of missing children across Europe. The report highlights impactful initiatives, new partnerships, and significant policy developments aimed at bringing us closer to our mission: zero missing children.

In 2024, AMBER Alert Europe worked alongside 75 partner organisations across 29 countries, including police, ministries, NGOs, and universities, to strengthen cross-border cooperation and child protection efforts. Among the year’s highlights was the launch of the Check. Think. Report. campaign in 16 countries, offering clear, practical steps for parents and caregivers in the critical moments after a child goes missing.

The organisation also played a crucial role in shaping European policy, successfully advocating for the inclusion of missing persons in the updated Prüm II Regulation and the Artificial Intelligence Act, improving the use of biometric tools and real-time data sharing in missing person investigations.

Further strengthening collaboration, AMBER Alert Europe formalised new partnerships with the University of Cologne and the French organisation AVANE, while deepening its cooperation with the EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL). The International Cold Case Analysis Project (ICCAP) also continued to grow, bringing together more than 1,000 students, professionals, and police experts to re-examine long-unsolved cases.

“The Annual Report 2024 reflects the power of working together across borders and sectors,” said Frank Hoen, Founder and Chairman of AMBER Alert Europe. “Every campaign, policy improvement, and new partnership brings us closer to a Europe where no child goes missing without a trace.”
