“Check. Think. Report.” Campaign Is Launched in 16 Countries and 14 Languages for International Missing Children’s Day

For this International Missing Children’s Day, AMBER Alert Europe, The European Centre for Missing Children, is proud to announce the launch of its “Check Think Report” campaign. This initiative, aimed at parents and caregivers, provides them with a comprehensive step-by-step guide on what to do and what to expect when their child goes missing.

The campaign will kick off simultaneously in 16 countries and 14 languages, spearheaded by ministries of the interior, national police, and leading non-profit organisations dedicated to child protection. The campaign’s name encapsulates its core advice: “Check” to verify the child’s absence, “Think” to recall crucial details and assess the situation, and “Report” to notify the authorities promptly.

Annually, thousands of families experience the trauma of a missing child. In such distressing moments, knowing what steps to take can make all the difference. Recognising this need, AMBER Alert Europe has collaborated with experts in the field of missing persons to develop the “Check Think Report” campaign. Through this initiative, parents and caregivers will receive vital information and guidance, empowering them to act swiftly and effectively in the event of a child’s disappearance.
