Today is Universal Children’s Day. On this day exactly 26 years ago, the United Nations signed the Convention of the Rights of the Child. In this convention the United Nations say that they shall take all measures to prevent the abduction and trafficking of children.
The 20th of November, marks the day on which the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, in 1959, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, in 1989. The convention includes 54 articles with agreements on children’s rights. For example, it draws attention to the prevention of child abduction and trafficking for any purpose or in any form.
