The new European platform #missingkidsEU aims to reunite missing refugee children with their families. The platform is an initiative from Initiative Vermisste Kinder, Germany’s largest missing children organization and member of AMBER Alert Europe.

“Not every missing child is in imminent danger”, says Lars Bruhns, President of Initiative Vermisste Kinder, “but when refugee children are separated from their family, they often do not know how to find their relatives. In such cases, they are more vulnerable to become a victim of organized crime.”

The platform has been launched today and is available in multiple languages such as Arabic, Persian and Turkish. It is intended to determine the secure residence of missing unaccompanied migrant minors and to facilitate the reunification of families, via missingkids.eu or the European hotline 116000. Law enforcement, refugee organisations and other relevant NGO’s will have access to the platform.
