Member of the European Parliament Petras Auštrevičius calls on the Lithuanian government to set up a national AMBER Alert system to find missing children in Lithuania. Mr. Auštrevičius wrote an official request to the Ministry of Interior.
Mr. Auštrevičius: “I see no reason why Lithuania has been waiting to make responsible decisions. Recent examples show how painful the disappearance or abduction of children in Lithuania can be. The first minutes and hours after an abduction are crucial. AMBER Alert systems help to immediately inform law enforcement, border guards and even the public about a missing child.”
