AMBER Alert Europe’s Board of Directors welcomes Carole Bird. With over 28 years of experience in law enforcement, Carole Bird specializes in leading change and innovation in policing.
As a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Canada’s national police service, she most recently spearheaded the development and implementation of Canada’s National Centre for Missing Persons and Unidentified Remains (NCMPUR).
NCMPUR is Canada’s national centre that assists law enforcement, medical examiners and chief coroners with missing persons and unidentified remains investigations through the provision of specialized services. As the Officer in Charge of NCMPUR, Carole Bird was the key figure behind several innovative projects geared towards advancing investigations and building a community of practice within her country. In 2015, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Merit for the Police Forces. She also sits on the Board of Directors of the Missing Children Society of Canada (MCSC). The Missing Children Society of Canada is a member organisation of AMBER Alert Europe.
