On January 1st, 2020, Damjan Miklič, Senior Criminal Police Inspector Specialist at the Slovenian Police Directorate, was officially appointed as president of the Police Expert Network on Missing Persons (PEN-MP). The PEN-MP currently consists of over 50 law enforcement experts in the field of missing persons, specifically children, from 21 European countries.

After a two year presidency, Colonel Jan Rybár, Head of the Missing Persons Unit of the Czech Police Presidium passed the torch to Miklič. ‘’Not only would I like to thank Jan for holding the first presidency of the PEN-MP, but also for his invaluable commitment”, says Frank Hoen, Founder and Chairman of AMBER Alert Europe. “I look forward to continuing to build on the achievements of the past two years with the newly appointed president.’’

Europe’s only Police Expert Network on Missing Persons

The Police Expert Network on Missing Persons (PEN-MP), founded by the AMBER Alert Europe foundation, is officially recognised by the Council of the European Union. Goal of the PEN-MP is to bring together law enforcement experts in the field of missing persons, specifically children.

In order to save more missing persons across Europe, members can quickly contact and consult each other about missing person cases. The PEN-MP also provides specialist support, advice, and training to its members.
