AMBER Alert Europe will deliver an advanced training webinar on cold and long-duration case analysis, with insights from its International Cold Case Analysis Project (ICCAP), through CEPOL, the EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training, on 30 March 2026.
This marks a new step in the partnership between AMBER Alert Europe and CEPOL, which since 2021 has resulted in ten joint training sessions for over 1,500 law enforcement professionals across the EU, with an average satisfaction score of 95%. While previous sessions focused on topics such as risk assessment, search methods, and alert systems for missing children, this webinar for the first time draws directly on the expertise and methodology of ICCAP.
Titled ‘Cold and long-duration case analysis: insights from ICCAP project in international networking and law enforcement cooperation’, the webinar will introduce participants to the technical fundamentals, methods, and international standards of cold case analysis. This will help enable them to systematically process unsolved cases. The training draws on the methodology and experience of ICCAP, the world’s largest international cold case project, which since 2020 has brought together over 1,000 students and professionals from 53 organisations across 12 countries.
The webinar is designed for advanced investigators and officials working in serious crime, homicides, missing persons, unidentified dead bodies, and cold cases. It is available for EU Member States, Associated countries, and JHA Agencies. It is therefore part of AMBER Alert Europe’s ongoing commitment to providing specialised training to law enforcement professionals in the field of missing persons across Europe.
