AMBER Alert Europe publishes its annual report. The report shows how support for the organisation keeps on growing. Also, the report reveals that in 2014, only 7 out of 28 EU Member States have an active AMBER Alert system in place. In 2015, this number has risen to 8.
Highlights of the annual report 2014:
- In 2014, 100+ Members of European Parliament (MEPs) publicly supported AMBER Alert Europe’s call for improving the protection of endangered missing children
- In 2014, 10 new members joined AMBER Alert Europe, this includes organisations representing law enforcement, such as the Missing Persons Center KGP from the National Police Poland, as well as NGOs such as UNICEF Slovakia
- In 2014, a number of 1739 endangered missing children from EU Member States were displayed on the website of AMBER Alert Europe
- In 2014, AMBER Alert Europe shared 25 AMBER Alerts from EU Member States
Developments 2015
AMBER Alert Europe is continuously working on expanding her network. In 2015, the Czech Parliament has integrally signed AMBER Alert Europe’s plan of action. The organization is now supported by 150+ MEPs. Partnerships have been developed with Facebook, as well as with Google’s navigation app Waze. The AMBER Alert Europe network has grown to include AMBER Alert Slovakia and with the help of AMBER Alert Europe, a Polish AMBER Alert was disseminated in Germany, where the child was successfully recovered.
