AMBER Alert Europe extends assistance to European countries in establishing and improving their national child alerting systems, known as AMBER Alerts, by offering training to law enforcement and technical guidance.
Over time, AMBER Alert Europe has been instrumental in the formation and enhancement of AMBER Alert systems in various European countries, such as Poland, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Italy, Malta, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and the Slovak Republic.
Malta (2017), Luxembourg (2016), and the Slovak Republic (2015) have effectively implemented national AMBER Alert systems under the mentorship and aid of AMBER Alert Europe. In 2008, a national AMBER Alert was initiated in the Netherlands through collaboration between Netpresenter B.V. (later activities assumed by the AMBER Alert Europe Foundation), the Public Prosecution Service, and the Dutch National Police. On 23 November 2021, the Dutch AMBER Alert was entirely handed over to the Dutch National Police. Presently, Dutch AMBER Alerts are exclusively issued by the Dutch National Police.
In addition to training and technical assistance, AMBER Alert Europe also facilitates international collaboration, such as with Meta, to launch AMBER Alerts on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
Child sexual abuse can tragically lead to children going missing. "Friend or Monster?" provides guidance on spotting the signs of possible child sexual abuse, how to create a safe environment for your child, and whom to turn to when you suspect child sexual abuse.
We assist in solving cold cases in cooperation with students and law enforcement experts.
We believe that being informed is key in preventing children from going missing.
