The Alerte Enlèvement that had been issued by the French Police on August 16th has been cancelled. The 4-year-old boy from Rennes has been found safe and well as a direct result of the French AMBER Alert.
Direct result of the AMBER Alert
According to the French public prosecutor Thierry Pocquet, the abductor took the child on the TGV from Paris Montparnasse to Bordeaux. The boy was recognized by a French citizen, who received information about the disappearance through AMBER Alert. After the attentive passer-by informed the French authorities, the police was able to quickly and safely recover the child. (Source: Le Parisien)

According to the French Ministry of Interior 16 alerts have been issued since 2006. So far, the system has been effective in all cases.
