In the last quarter of 2015, 537 endangered missing children cases were shared on AMBER Alert Europe’s website. Compared to last year’s numbers in October, November and December, this is an increase of 16.7%.

For 8 children an AMBER Alert was issued: 6 AMBER Alerts in the Czech Republic, 1 in Poland and 1 in the Netherlands. All missing children were successfully recovered. 7 of these children were even found within 24 hours.

Facts & figures

  • Children recovered within one month: 69%
  • Hungary accounts for 37.8% of all missing children in Q4 2015, followed by the UK (22.5%)
  • Average age of the endangered missing children: 13 years old
  • 56% of the endangered missing children were girls
